Ogen has black hair with white stripes. He also wears black clothes and an apothecary satchel.
Years ago, Ogen was treated for an illness by Graham Crossford. During that time Graham mentioned a small, bright young boy who he had treated. This lead to Ogen becoming an apothecary who healed indiscriminately and married a woman named Melyssa during his studies.
However, at some point, Ogen let a wanted criminal into his house and treated the man's injuries. But, after the man had healed, Ogen came back after picking up ingredients in the woods and found his wife dead on the floor, murdered by the very man who Ogen had saved. This lead to Ogen's practice of saving those who he deemed worthy.
After some time traveling the land, Ogen found his wife's killer with a family of his own, and in the dead of nights, killed him the same way as his wife in an act of vengeance. Ogen would be tormented by what might have happened to his wife and child, and because Ogen himself took a life, he saw himself as unworthy to live, so Ogen never took care of himself, his body being ravaged by various plagues over time.
While at Saintsbridge, he found a man named Miguel injured on the ground, begging for help. Knowing who he was and seeing the dagger and stray blood, he refused to help him and was about to leave, but runs into another apothecary named Alfyn, who questions why he would leave a sick man to die like that. After a brief and unpleasant conversation, he departed the area.
Ogen later appeared in the Saintsbridge tavern to treat a boy who collapsed while eating. Diagnosing it as a paroxysm from eating sweet peas, he gave him a treatment that set him right again. Here, he runs into Alfyn again, and introduced himself formally to him before leaving the tavern.
Later, he runs into Alfyn once again after the latter was done helping an elderly woman with her sickness. After revealing the signs he knew about Miguel's true history, he asked to see one of Alfyn's tonics, and he complimented him on his potential. Before leaving the area, he implored Alfyn to let Miguel die and gave him the following advice: "Before you act, ask yourself what it truly means to save a man's life, especially the life of a killer."
The next day, Ogen witnessed Miguel take a young boy hostage and Alfyn setting off after him in hot pursuit.
A few days after the incident, Ogen was on his way out of town when he found Alfyn at the town entrance, where the latter had a question for him regarding his recent decision. Ogen told him he made a poor choice with Miguel, and told him his backstory regarding a similar decision he made with a person he chose to help, which led to his wife's murder. As he left, he told him to think before making any more decisions regarding saving others, and told him of another who practiced his craft the same as he did.
Ogen later made his way to Orewell, where there was an affliction going around among the townsfolk. In a large house where the patients were, he goes inside to start his work on treating them. While working on one, his debilitating health started to show as he dropped his tools, but brushed it off when asked about it by Alfyn, who was also in the room helping treat the patients. He then declined an offer by Alfyn to work together on the patients, and as soon as Alfyn left for the tavern, he asked one of the patients he treated to see the medicine he gave him.
He later found Alfyn at the tavern, where he had a conversation with him about the funk that he was in, and noted his declining skills with the medicine he gave the villagers. He later brushed Alfyn off when he noted that his hands were shaking. Later that night, Ogen woke up from a bad dream at the inn and began coughing profusely. Realizing that he could no longer sleep, he went to check up on his patients.
The next day, he helped a traveler in need of treatment and as he was going on his way, he ran into Alfyn, who confronted him over his deteriorating health. As he attempted to decline his help, he went into a coughing fit again and began hacking up blood. After a quick diagnosis by Alfyn, Ogen departed back to the inn, telling Alfyn to forget about him. However, when confronted by Alfyn regarding his late wife, Ogen told him the rest of the story of how he found his wife's killer while roaming and after taking his life, he saw himself as unworthy to live and that during his journey, never treated or took care of himself for any of the illnesses he was ravaged by during his travels. He then asked Alfyn to leave him be for a while, only for Alfyn to return a short time later with a renewed spirit and determination to treat him. After some temporary measures to be kept stable, he asked what Alfyn planned to do next, and expressed skepticism when Alfyn told him he was going to fix him, body and soul.
After Alfyn returned from the Forest of Rubeh with an ogre eagle feather, he received the elixir treatment from him, and he was cured of his condition. Before going their separate ways, he told Alfyn about Graham Crossford, the man who helped him years ago, and complimented him on carrying the legacy he started.
