Story[]
During the events of Octopath Traveler, Russell, who had recently acquired a frightful gambling debt, sought to steal a rare and valuable tome in Atlasdam's library entitled "The Church of the Sacred Flame: A Complete Historie" by stealing a key to the archives from a sleeping guard. He was interrogated by Cyrus about its theft, and fearing he would be turned in, retreated into his study, only to be found and confronted by Cyrus. Upon refusing Cyrus's offer to accompany him back to the academy for further inquiry, he engaged him in battle, only to be defeated and turned in. He later confessed his crimes and his business associates before being expelled from the academy. His defeat and Cyrus' words caused him to re-evaluate himself and he became determined to start over, moving to Stonegard to work with Dominic. Russell now aspires to write his own books and fill libraries the world over.
